Lights On Celebration

We had another hugely successful Lights On Celebration!  Everyone at the Hollister Downtown Association hopes that you had the opportunity to kick off the holiday season with this family tradition right in downtown Hollister.  Of course, an event this big could not have been possible without their continuing support and dedication.

Parade Information - "The Magic of Christmas"

The Hollister Downtown Association will present the 24th Annual Lights On Celebration Parade on Saturday, November 29, 2014, a wonderful family-friendly, community event that brings 8,000 to 10,000 people to downtown Hollister. This year's parade theme is "The Magic of Christmas" and will start at 5:30 pm.

Holiday Boutique

We are seeking vendors for our Annual Lights On Celebration Holiday Boutique which will be held on Saturday, November 29th from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm in the Vet's Building in downtown Hollister. With more than 5000 visitors to the boutique last year, this event brought together a diverse market place of 56 vendors selling everything from soap to scarves, purses to perfume, jewelry to Christmas gifts for the entire family. This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your business to enthusiastic shoppers and visitors. We would love to have you participate in our special Lights On Holiday Boutique.

Acts of Kindness Program

The story behind the mascot for the parade, Jaime the Elf, was written by local artist, Kathleen Sheridan in 1995. In the quest for her Elfhood, Jaime discovers that only in the light of love, peace and hope does the true spirit of the season shine. "Jaime the Elf" is a story about the true meaning of the holiday season, and encourages children to think about what acts of kindness they can do during the holiday season to help Jaime light up downtown Hollister.

The "Acts of Kindness" Program, sponsored by Pacific Scientific, was presented to the schools in San Benito County requesting students K-8 to submit their Acts of Kindness to help Jaime. There will be students representing each school on the PG&E Acts of Kindness Float in the parade.

GENERAL SPONSORSHIP: Please review the 2014 Sponsorship Levels document (left column) for a list of Sponsorships Levels and decide which one is best for you. The list includes a brief description of the activity, along with a list of marketing opportunities. And, if you decide that a sponsorship is for you, please complete and return the 2014 Sponsorship Application.  We truly appreciate the support of our community!

TREE LIGHT SPONSORSHIP: Help light the trees along San Benito Street to create a festive downtown while displaying your name on your tree.

LIGHTED WREATH SPONSORSHIP: We will be hanging lighted holiday wreaths to the pedestrian light poles along San Benito Street this year! Wreaths have clear lights with berries and pinecones and will include your name.

Decorate A Tree

Thanks to your generosity, and that of Bourdet's Christmas Trees, local families in need will have a happier holiday. Your decorated tree will be displayed on the corner of Fourth and San Benito Streets during the Lights On Celebration. After the event, it will be donated to a deserving family or organization in our community. Entries are limited and are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Trees will be judged after 11:00 am and the winning tree sponsors will be announced during the parade.
