Commercial Facade Improvement Program

A strong downtown business district is
essential to the economic health of both Hollister and San Benito
County. The Redevelopment Agency of Hollister is committed to
promoting economic vitality and removing blight by providing
assistance to business owners.
In many ways, downtown defines the
identity and character of Hollister, yet, this older area is
vulnerable to decline. The 2006-07 Commercial Facade
Improvement Program, administered by the Redevelopment Agency,
provides direct assistance to business and property owners in a
public private partnership that benefits both downtown and the City
of Hollister as a whole. An upgraded appearance of
storefronts, enhanced business signage, improved ambiance and more
appealing environment for investors are some of the benefits of the
program.
The City of Hollister Redevelopment
Agency has authorized an allocation of $80,000 to the program for
Fiscal 2006-2007. It is intended by the Redevelopment Agency
to provide sixty percent (60%) of the allocated funds to large-scale
projects (up to $20,000). The remaining forty percent (40%)
shall be utilized for smaller faade improvements. Assistance
can be used for any architectural/engineering costs, building permit
fees, or Site and Architectural fees that arise from individual
projects.
