Establishing a Legacy Through the Downtown Endowment Fund
at The Community Foundation of San Benito County

A bequest is one of the most forthright ways to support the long term work of the Hollister Downtown Association.  Through your will, you can leave cash, securities, objects or real estate as a living legacy to the Hollister Downtown Association through its Downtown Endowment Fund to assure the continuance of its vital efforts of revitalization and preservation of our historic downtown district for many years to come.

Here are some of the different ways in which you can arrange for a bequest to the Hollister Downtown Association's Downtown Endowment Fund.

Specific Bequest

You can choose to bequeath a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your total estate, or particular securities or other property.

 

Residuary Bequest

Through a residuary bequest, you may contribute to the Downtown Endowment Fund all or a portion of the sum remaining in your estate after the payment of all expenses and any specific bequests to other beneficiaries.

 

Contingent Bequest

A contingent bequest of a specific amount, or all of a portion of your estate, will be realized by the Downtown Endowment Fund only in the event that the primary beneficiary or beneficiaries of your estate do not survive you.

 

Charitable Remainder Trust

With a charitable remainder trust, you can make an irrevocable gift in exchange for an income stream for the remainder of your life or the life of yourself and your spouse.  Sometimes a charitable remainder trust can provide income not only during your life, but also the lives of your children.

 

Endowment Gifts

You may prefer to have your gift become a part of the Hollister Downtown Association's permanent endowment, forever associating your name (or that of another person whom you would like to honor) with the ongoing work of the Hollister Downtown Association.
