This year, we are excited to bring a new event to Downtown Hollister! The Downtown Beer & Bacon Crawl will be the first of its kind in Hollister uniting beer and bacon lovers. Downtown businesses and breweries will come together to offer a memorable afternoon of beer and bacon tasting in a fun “crawl” format. Participants will receive an event map and a commemorative mini pub glass to sample a variety of craft beers and enjoy tasty bacon bites at nine locations on and around San Benito Street.

Participating breweries include popular local breweries Grillin & Chillin Alehouse and Brewery Twenty Five, as well as Anchor Brewing Co., Bear Republic Brewing Co., Elysian Brewing, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Golden Road Brewing, Kona Brewing Co. and Speakeasy Ales & Lagers. Crawl stop locations include Cheap Seats Pub & Grub, Fisher’s Restaurant & Catering, The Heavenly Bakery, Irma’s Fashions, Johnny’s Bar & Grill, La Catrina Mexican Grill, Paine’s Restaurant & Bar, Running Rooster and San Benito Bene rounding out the downtown fun.

The day will begin at noon with check-in at 650 San Benito Street. Participants will file through our check-in area to receive their event map, wristband (you must be 21 or over to participate) and a commemorative mini pub glass. They are invited to purchase raffle tickets and to visit our photo booth before they journey off onto San Benito Street at 1:00 pm to decide which location to crawl to first. The event map is a guide to the crawl stops and brewery pairings, and which brewery is located in each one. Each participant will be given a 2 oz. craft beer taste and a bacon inspired tasty bite appetizer. The event ends at 5:00 pm.

The bacon inspired tasty bite appetizers are rumored to be such culinary delights such as bacon risotto balls, bacon, cheddar and jalapeno bread, bacon dipped chocolate, bacon macaroni and cheese balls. Savory or sweet, there will be something for everyone. Beer and bacon enthusiasts are encouraged to mark their calendars and attend this inaugural event.
