Springtime Is Here!

What a wonderful time of year to live here in San Benito County. With the hills full of life and color and all of the farms gearing up for their various harvests, Hollister and the surrounding areas are sure to please anyone's eyes. With such rich farmlands producing all sorts of goodies, everyone is ready to enjoy the wonderful tastes that are coming our way.

To help get us started, the Hollister Downtown Association is the coordinator of a great event for our community held right here in Downtown Hollister. It's time to welcome back the weekly Farmer's Market! Diana Thorson, one of our very own HDA staff, is the organizer of this event. The Market is held each Wednesday from 3:00PM to 7:00PM on the corner of 4th and San Benito in the 'grassy area'.

The Market is a great place to get fresh produce, fish, meat, baked goods, flowers and any number of other delights. The parking is convenient, as the market is held right next to the 4th street garage where parking is always free.

The market provides a great opportunity for community members to come and visit our downtown. During your visit, you can stroll down main street, and any of the side streets, and see the great shops and restaurants up close and personal. Enjoy a quick bite to eat before or after the market, or stop and visit a shop that you've been meaning to check out. Another option available for market goers this year is Mansmith's Barbecue. They will be at the Farmer's Market each Wednesday. Enjoy a sandwich at the market or get some wonderful food to enjoy at home.

I hope everyone enjoys the sights, sounds, and tastes, of San Benito County in the upcoming months. I know my family and I always do and we feel truly blessed to live and thrive in this wonderful community. See you at the Market!
